This product is delivered electronicaPowered by the Best Service Engine 2 and available for download, Voyager Drums is a virtual instrument providing two different Yamaha drum kits—a Maple Custom and a Recording Custom (both instruments featuring Paiste cymbals)—as well as a library of MIDI grooves. Each drum kit allows you three different timbres based on the microphone positioning at the time of sampling: direct delivers a close-mic sound, while overhead provides a combination of the direct signal and the overheads; the full kit setting combines overhead signal, direct audio, and room mics for additional ambiance.
Recorded at 24-bit/96 kHz on gear provided by SPL, API, Apogee, Neumann, Sennheiser, and other notable pro-audio companies, Voyager Drums provides 16 velocity layers and five round robins (multiple samples per note to avoid the synthetic repetitive hits of multiple drum-strikes). Furthermore, each microphone position sports individual controls such as volume, panning, attack, and decay. This virtual instrument includes the Best Service Engine 2, and is compatible with Windows and Mac platforms. It can operate within standalone, VST, and AU formats. Trigger Samples A Trigger function facilitates the augmentation of your found kick, snare, and tom sounds with the sounds provided by Voyager Drums. This application has many practical benefits, such as lending a more "expensive" feeling to a kit recorded at less-than-optimal conditions. The trigger section sports individual delay and pitch control as well. Effect Section Here a compressor (with presets), an equalizer, a limiter, and a distortion module are offered for built-in tonal shaping. Arranger Function The arranger allows you to trigger MIDI grooves from within Voyager Drums that are always in sync with your DAW or sequencer. You can select from 5 different speed presets, each containing 48 straight grooves, 12 triplet grooves, and 12 fills. The grooves have all been recorded according to the BPM settings, bringing you a total 360 individual variations. You can also find the grooves in your library folder as MIDI files for use in your DAW with other virtual instruments.
