Description
- Altiverb 8 requires macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or up.
- No Windows support yet. This will be added. For now we advice not to upgrade yet if you are on Windows.
- Altiverb 8 will replace your Altiverb 7 and its license, but don't worry, Altiverb 8 is fully backward compatible. Part of why this took some time is that we had to make sure your 15 year old sessions load back sounding exactly as the original.
- Audio Ease IRs are installed by the installer, but other IRs you need to manually move to /Users/Shared/Audio Ease/Altiverb/Impulse Responses.
- If there's a reason you need to maintain your Altiverb 7 license for a while after upgrading, let us know.
WHAT IS NOT NEW IN 8
Wait? What?
This is what Altiverb 8 continues to deliver, just like Altiverb 7 (and earlier) has been delivering for two decades:
- Backward compatibility, Altiverb 8 opens in sessions/projects that were made with Altiverb since 2006 and the session/project will sound the same.
- All IRs ever released for Altiverb.
- New IRs will be added regularly, for free.
- Fixes and support without yearly fees.
- The option to sell and transfer your license.
- Countless ways of manipulating the reverb sound with controls like reverb time, attack, brightness, pre delay, EQ, damping..
- Revolutionary stage positioning control for placing single members of a group, ensemble or even a complete orchestra on their own individual spot on stage, in any room/concert hall
iLok account
The Altiverb license can be activated by iLok on your machine (computer) or on an iLok USB Key (generation 2 or newer).
The physical iLok USB key is NOT required.
iLok Cloud is not supported.
macOS
Mac OS X 10.15 (Catalina) or higher
macOS 14 (Sonoma) and macOS 13 (Ventura) are fully supported.
Windows
Windows support will be added later.
For now you can use Altiverb 7 on Windows.
8 GB free disk space
The core IR set takes around 8 GB of hard disk space. You can choose to install this in any location you like.
